Object and Animation Control in SM Visual Package
Sadomba-Mahari Creator 3D is a powerful application that is used in making animated clips and in it there are so many tools and functions that makes the work a lot easier and much more fun, on the rendering side, to the average computer user as compared to the much more complicated competitor software packages that are very difficult to operate whether you are new to 3D packages a veteran, or 3D guru. On the menu, the tags on the buttons are quite self descriptive such that no-one needs anyone to interpret for him. Another similar application Creator 3DB (or Creator 3D Builder) is very good at object and animation creation and control which is one of its major roles in the package. “Object and Animation Control” in this context means manipulating objects within the program which includes giving them direction, motion, special effects and speed. Creator 3DB also does rendering via the Creator Renderer and Creator 3D which are plug-ins that enable it to carry out this function which adds more power to its whole functionality.
There are two basic tools that do object control within the program (The Cheetah tool and Control tool). The difference between the two being that when using the Cheetah tool, you have to enter the translation points where you want the object to be placed and it does the translation automatically for you while when using the control tool you will have to use keyboard keys to control the object which is an advantage as you are allowed to specify the exact motion path that you want your object to follow and it would be a great advantage. However the Cheetah tool produces much smoother translations as compared to when using the control tool since the computer does the translation for you and when using the keyboard control keys it’s rather manual and much more prone to error. Below is a brief description of the Control Tools.
- Object controlw: This allows movement of an object in the x and z axis only. It helps you when you want to move your object forward, sideways or backwards.
- Object controlh: This allows movement in the y axis only. It allows you to move your object upwards or downwards only.
- Dual Control: If you have two objects loaded in Creator 3DB at the same time, it allows you to move them in the same direction. You can control two objects and give them the same translations that is they both move in the same direction
- Opposing dual control: It allows you to move two objects in the opposite direction.
